Ingredients

    1/2 cup Minced onion

    1 Clove garlic, minced

    1 Tbsp. Coconut oil

    1 can Tomato sauce

    1/2 cup Whitecourt Mountain honey

    2 Tbsp. Apple cider vinegar

    2 Tbsp. Minced parsley

    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

    1/4 tsp. Black pepper

    pinch Cayenne pepper

Directions

Sauté onion and garlic in oil until softened. Add remaining ingredients and bring mixture to boil; reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.

Allow to cool completely and use as a condiment or in your favorite recipes! Barbecue sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.


Honey BBQ Sauce

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Coconut oil

1 Small red onion, small diced

2 Garlic cloves, minced

1 Jalapeño, seeded and minced

1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes

1 1/2 Cups ketchup

1 cup Tomato purée7        

3/4 Cup dark brown sugar

1/3 Cup Whitecourt Mountain Honey

2/3 Cup apple cider vinegar

1/2 Cup water

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Kosher salt

2 teaspoons Freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Sautè onion, garlic, and jalapeño in coconut oil until almost tender, about 5 minutes. Add the crushed red pepper flakes during the last minute of cooking. Add rest of ingredients and simmer on low until sauce is thick.

Allow to cool completely and use as a condiment or in your favorite recipes! Barbecue sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
